मुंगेर की दुर्गा पूजा बाकी स्थानों में मनाई जाने वाली दुर्गा पूजा बिलकुल जुदा है । मुंगेर दुर्गा पूजा का प्रमुख आर्कषण बड़ी दुर्गा महारानी जी है । माँ की तस्वीर अगर आप अहमदाबाद, दिल्ली, चेन्नई, आसाम या विशारवापटनम् के किसी भी दुकान में देख ले तो कोई आश्चर्य नहीं होगा, क्योंकि मां सिर्फ मुंगेर में ही नही पूरे भारत पूज्य है। मुंगेर की दुर्गा पूजा अगर देखा जाये तो मुंगेर में 100 से
ज्यादा प्रतिमाएं बनाती है। सिर्फ शादीपुर में ही 5 प्रतिमाएं बनती है। हर प्रतिमा सोने चाँदी के जेवरों से लदी रहती है । कइयों के अस्त्र-शस्र भी सोने चाँदी के होते है। मुंगेर की दुर्गा पूजा में परंपरा का निर्वाह किया जाता है। मुंगेर में बनने वाली सभी दुर्गा काली प्रतिमाएं हर साल एक जैसी बनती है।
